It is that time when campuses are looking at adding courses for the 2025-26 school year. TxSP’s new protocol, Course Action, addresses:

  • A structured process and a timeline worksheet for planning.
  • Potential data to collect for considering new courses.
  • Potential costs that should be considered
Also included is a document containing all the required considerations that can be submitted to the district for approval.

TxSP has updated the protocol, Class Size Requirements. The protocol covers the two types of waivers required to meet Texas class size guidelines and discusses the two times a district can have a larger class size without a waiver. A parent letter, in both English and Spanish, notifying parents of class size is also included.

The comprehensive protocol, Accelerated Instruction (AI) and Accelerated Learning (AL) addresses the following topics:

  • Preliminary steps
  • Legal requirements
  • HB 1416 pathways
  • Scheduling options
  • Substitute assessments
  • AI basic requirements and timelines
  • Accelerated Education Plans (AEP)
  • Middle and junior high schools
  • Students served through an IEP or Section 504
  • Parent Options

Multiple letters are included in Spanish and English.
